Well, it’s almost Summer time. Which means that it’s almost new iPhone time again. Unfortunately it looks like Apple will be keeping the iPhone launch in October instead of June like they started with the iPhone 4S. (But of course, that isn’t a confirmed fact … just inference.)
But how can you perfect something so … harmoniously perfect? Welp, the iPhone isn’t without it’s inherent flaws. Flaws that have been with the device since the original iPhone came out in 2007, and new flaws that have developed more recently with the advent of the iPhone 4. These flaws include but are not limited to:
- A tiny screen. (The current screen size is acceptable, but come on. It’s obvious that there needs to be a drastic change here.)
- No widgets/customization (Gimme a weather icon that tells me the actual temperature and we’re good.)
- An all glass enclosure. (Dropping an iPhone on anything other than a bed or carpet usually ends badly.)
- There are more points, but from here on out it gets real subjective real fast.
So a 4 inch iPhone, in my eyes, has always seemed to be a worthless upgrade. That is, until Verge forum user modilwar opened my eyes on the matter. You see, by keeping the current 640 resolution width, and increasing the height to 1152 from 960, you could keep the iPhone almost exactly the same size, while at the same time making it look completely different. A half inch larger screen would be a dream for a rotating iOS home screen (Like the iPad) as well as for watching movies and typing landscape. The Retina Display moniker would remain the same as well. All of the app developers who choose not to update their apps to the new resolution would have their applications run somewhat letterboxed, with the extra space there for notification center, as well as the in call/tethering bar.
Not only that, but this new form factor also completely ties into a lot of the rumors that Apple is planning on releasing a new, 4 inch iPhone. I created the mockup above to try and get a glimpse on what exactly Apple could be working on. But of course, only time will tell.

Team Teamwork rocking it, as usual.
I made a remix for Together’s producer contest. I didn’t win. And I didn’t want to release it til I heard one way or the other. So, now that I know - here it is!

There’s a good reason to be mad at a company like Gamefreak or Nintendo. How great would it be to right now turn on the greatest game, possibly ever made in history? It wouldn’t be Monster Hunter, Japan. It would be Pocket Monster. Imagine a 3D (without glasses, of course) pokemon game, that looked absolutely fantastic. Was driven by a brand new game engine developed exclusively for the 3DS by a company such as Square Enix? Now, this may seem impossible. But if you would look at just how much money pokemon has made … I digress. It should be something that is not only possible, but in the works. And I wouldn’t doubt for one second that this were true, but instead of these little sequels you’re pushing out, there should be one team working on the game instead of being split in two like this. The same goes for games like Kingdom Hearts/FFVXIII. Instead of pushing out 3 bad games, then one good one, why not focus more time and energy on one game? Is it money? It couldn’t be. These companies make ridiculous sums of money from this stuff. It’s the exact same thing with Hollywood these days. Sequels sequels sequels. Sequels to remakes for Gods sake.
What is going on? Is originality dead? What is truly going on right now? It seems that 20 years ago creativity and imagination were promoted heavily in this culture, and today these ideas all almost completely ignored? Are so many people just that content with nostalgia? Nostalgia is the first step towards a global depression. Is this what you want? Is this what we are content with as human beings? Or are you going to stand the fuck up, and create something? Is humanity just that scared of negative feedback? That scared of growing?
It’s a phase we’re going to have to outgrow if we want the future of entertainment to evolve, people. Flip through the channels on your boob tube. Derivative horse shit. 90% of it. Tonight Archer is over, what is there to look forward to on television? Very, very little.
It didn’t always be this way, our collective tastes have been slipping into oblivion. Instead of being content with the same, we should all be obsessed with the new. Instead, as a world, we are doing the opposite. Relentlessly handing over control to the over mind. Wouldn’t it be great, instead, to become part of it?
This got weird quick, didn’t it? Damn it, pokemon.
This about sums up my feelings at this moment.
Pet-sitting for someone perhaps? Otherwise, it must just be a cat in need of assistance.

Hello, beautiful. The new iPad features a beautiful retina display with four times the pixels of the iPad 2, which boosts the resolution to a standard that is higher than 1080p. On top of that? It features 4G LTE (With 9 hour battery!) Incredible. The pricing is the same, so that rumor about the prices changing was totally false. But still, it packs a A5X CPU, a Quad Core GPU, 5 MP 1080p Camera, and it makes you toast.
Delicious. Pre-order now.
Well, the PS Vita has GelaSkins now. So that slippery, smudgy, easy to scratch surface can now be decked out with the artwork of your choice. Which in itself is pretty choice.
Get yours at GelaSkins.
